Principles of Math 10  


Course Description

Principles of Math 10 is a basic algebra course using a function approach. It is a prerequisite for Principles of Math 11 and for some college and technical institute courses. 



Course Pre-requisites

Successful completion of Math Skills Development II
OR
Successful writing of a college assessment test or the assessment test at Continuing Education

Assignments

Hand-in assignments account for 60% of final mark. The tests at the end of each unit cover only that unit. They account for 40% of the final grade. There is no final exam.

*(Note: Students MUST attain a mark of at least 50% on all assignments and tests. If a mark is less than 50% on an assignment, additional work must be done and submitted for marking. Less than 50% on a test requires additional work and writing a retest to attain at least 50%.)



Textbooks and Course Materials

Handouts are provided by Continuing Education. A textbook is not required, although texts are available if students want extra material.
