Workplace Literacy Centre

A busy place The Literacy Program is located at 740 Robron Road (Robron Centre) in Campbell River. It offers a friendly, relaxed atmosphere to adults wishing to improve their basic reading, writing and math skills.
Most adults, who realize their academic skill level is low, are hesitant about returning to school. However, this fear tends to disappear when students realize they are not alone
in their need to improve these skills. In addition, trained volunteer tutors are available to assist students with academic work and to offer encouragement to those students who need to regain their confidence, particularly if school was in the distant past. Getting help from a tutor

In addition to building basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills, the Centre provides the opportunity for students to become familiar with computers. Keyboarding, word processing, internet access and software learning programs are all available. Being exposed to the use of computers in a non-threatening environment has allowed many students to overcome their reluctance to develop computer skills.

If you know an adult who would benefit by improving their reading, writing or math skills, please ask them to call 923-4918 or, better still, accompany them to the Centre where they can explore the possibility of improving these skills.
