Taking a course at home can be tough.
Help yourself succeed.

Arrange for Distance Ed. Course Support through the Continuing Education Centre.

We offer the following services:

  • Two hours of teacher time per month - usually divided into one half hour appointment per week. This is an individualized, one-on-one consultation.
  • Use of the student word processing lab including initial instruction, free disk and printing supplies, plus instructor assistance as needed.
  • Access to the Internet and CD-ROM encyclopedia for research.
  • Study space in a quiet area, available anytime during the Centre's operating hours.
  • The borrowing of resource materials such as writing books, style guides, etc.
  • Supervised exams in a quiet exam room.
  • Telephone and written progress reports to sponsor agencies on request.
  • Free participation in introductory computer skills workshop, and study skills workshops (free if enrolled in a course at Continuing Education; $20 per workshop if you are not).
The cost recovery fee for this service is $200 per month. (Ask about possible sponsorship through HRDC).

Taking more than one course? This cost does not increase if the student is taking more than one course at a time. (Our previous experience shows that students often overlap courses, in programs such as Nursing Refresher, Educational Assistant, Career Counselling, etc.)

This service is provided by fully qualified BC certified teachers who are skilled and experienced in helping adult students succeed as learners.
