Math Skills Development I

Course Description

Math Skills Development I is designed to improve students' basic math skills. While this course primarily makes use of a math kit with a pre-test/post-test format, it can also be individualized to meet students' personal needs. For example, one-on-one volunteers are available to assist students with learning how to balance a cheque book, use a bank machine, or estimate the cost of a grocery list.

This course is suitable for those students needing to improve their math skills for personal reasons or prior to beginning Math Skills Development II..

Course Pre-requisites

None

Course Breakdown

The sections of the math kit cover topics such as adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and word problems.

Assignments
The math kit is designed in a pre-test/post-test format so students work only on the concepts they need to and are able to skip the sections they already know.

This is a non-gradeable course.
